EDITING PAGE
TO DO ... WALTER
NOTE:
the 'goto my photolist' button text needs fixed, we need to insert the appropriate spaces between the words.
NEW PROGRAMMING TO DO...
Add a family name sorting box to the photo gallery
Develop an accordian format for the atlas pages so they are not so long. Brian has started this, need to complete it.
REGIONAL SPECIES LISTS
Complete the work on this section.
TO DO .... BRIAN
ADD BRUCE BENNETT'S DATA TO THE MAPS
GENERAL
in the get data box, can you capitalize the word LEGEND so it stands out or jumps out right away, or even make it a different colour?
photo record updates seem to be only for vascular so far. I know of some fungi and algae photos with coordinates that are not showing. See for example, chara vulgaris. I think also some vascular photo records are not showing. We need to explore this.
update the photo records for April
VASCULAR PLANTS
Map changes needed
Carex craweii, dots to be removed based on BEC data correction. See Jenifer's email of December 12 2010, she said she would mention to Will MacKenzie we need an update. I requested an update in early March.
CDC has no subspecies listed.
We have one subspecies listed.
Map errors to fix
Soliva sessilis: move the RBCM dot from eastern BC to VI.
Egeria densa:
remove the map dot for Egeria densa from the northeast. It was an error and Will removed it from the BEC database, but after he sent us the BEC update. [NOTE THAT IF WE GET AN UPDATE OF THE BEC THIS WILL BE FIXED. ]
Missing Illustrations
Acer platanoides
Lupinus burkei ssp burkei, missing illustration, probably under species name.
Missing photo record dots on map
Claytonia exigua Torr. & A. Gray . There is a photo record with coordinates, but that record is not being mapped.
Range information to change
Penstemon pruinosus ........change range info as below: Should be limited to S Okanagan; regional endemic of the Okanagan, Grand Coulee & N portions of E slopes of Cascades in Wash, E BC loc should be in doubt;Illustrations to fix
so that we can handle name changes. e.g. Actaea elata. Is this easy to do? It would make things more consistent since now, often, the name on the illustartion doesn't reflect the new name.
Other
Cypripidium montanum dot in Vancouver is a cultivated specimen, should remove
Missing Illustration: calystegia sepium ssp sepium.....likley needs to be renamed...
some interactive maps are missing, need to check this
MOSSES
Bartramia pomiformis There is a map on the page but no text. If pages with maps are only those from Wilf's book, then there should be text for this one. Can you check?
Add Wilf's moss maps...
ALGAE
1) Note that there is unwanted bolding on the caption under the map.
2) remove link to Flora North America, that doesn't cover algae. add instead algaebase and Seaweed Africa.
3) at the top of the algae species search page, we should say someting similar to what we have for the lichens species search page (make this consistent from group to group).
Atlas pages
1) Can we set up the pages to only show the following note when I haven't added an intro? Otherwise it's misplaced, and a bit redundant.
"SPECIES INFORMATION Detailed atlas information (i.e., species description, habitat, and a line illustration) is not currently available for this species. However, we presently show photos and a distribution map, if present in our databases, along with links to outside databases".
2) Can we move the link to the Ocean biogeography Information System over so that is in the image section? Or in both sections, as it may also show maps? Note that right now it is not wokring for Rosenvingiella polyrhiza, will check others.
LICHENS
Add a blank map to the atlas page instead of the current open space, for now.
Add the following link: shows photos, gives descriptions, has a map. http://symbiota.org/nalichens/taxa/index.php?taxon=54264
LIVERWORTS
add in liverworts list Jamie sent over. Source is NatureServe 2011
at the top of the search results page for liverworts (which includes hornworts) add in a note about where the list comes from (as we did for lichens).
