Recent Immigrant Settlement in the GVRD (2001 Census) and Planning for a New Service Center
In considering the spatial distribution of recent immigrants by 'place
of origin', we have proposed that a new immigrant service centre be
located close to the sea bus station in North Vancouver. Supporting
this proposal is the identification of a cluster of recent Iranian
immigrants in the area and the absence of any immigrant service centres
in North Vancouver. The proposed location has been chosen for its
proximity to public transit routes and central location to the 'recent
immigrant' population.
