Introduction:

Rocky Mountain Tailed Frogs are found in small clusters on the southern edges of the Kootenay Lake Forest District & Cranbrook Forest District in British Columbia.

These frogs are very dependant on their environment and any attempts to relocate them or any alterations within their environment would have a negative impact on these populations.

Under the Provincial Conservation Status these amphibians are classified in the S1 category - this means that they are critically imperiled. Thus, it is very important that these frogs are protected by conservation areas designed specifically for them to maintain healthy growth.
