                    MULTI-CRITERIA ANALYSIS: SEATTLE HOUSE HUNTING

Geography 376 - Advanced Geographic Information Systems
                                Final Project (December 2006).

          ABSTRACT

At some stages in our lives, most of us will need to look for a new home.
Perhaps because of a new job, a change in family circumstances or even
a change in our accommodation requirements will prompt us to look for a
new place to live. This can be a time consuming and frustrating task.
Potential movers would have to formulate a list of requirements and
constraints upon which they could base their decisions on finding a suitable
home. For this project, we utilized GIS to facilitate a multi-criteria analysis,
which would provide some useful sources of information for movers in
selecting an optimal location to live in -- that is, after factoring in all of the
requirements and constraints into the decision-making process. The resulting
maps would ideally identify some of the target places that are deemed
       suitable for the family.
