Abstract

Information for creating maps of a certain feature is usually collected at points over a landscape, in this study two different methods for showing this point data over an area were looked at.  The results showed that both methods produced similar results.  Knowledge of tree species that grow into an area is important information to forest managers as it can be used to predict how the forest will look in the future.  Site series, basal area, and stand height were looked at to see if any of these factors is able to predict the amount of seedlings growing in a forest.  The results showed that none of these factors is able to predict the amount of seedlings in an area.
