Metro Vancouver Tsunami RiskAbstract: An inundation model of a 10-metre high tsunami was created for the Metro Vancouver region. The model calculated the potential risk of inundation with respect to an areas elevation and distance from the coast. The areas at highest risk of inundation include the low-lying cities of Richmond and Delta. The majority of land not adjacent to the coast or Fraser River in Vancouver, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, and Burnaby is not at risk of inundation. An estimated 403,852 ± 165,177 people reside within the forecasted risk area.
