Background
Natural resource
management refers to the management of natural resources such as land, water,
soil, plants and animals, with a particular focus on how management affects the
quality of life for both present and future generations. It deals with managing
the way in which people and natural landscapes interact and brings together
land use planning, water management, biodiversity conservation, and the future
sustainability of industries like agriculture, mining, tourism, fisheries and
forestry. Natural resource management specifically focuses on a scientific and
technical understanding of resources and ecology and the life-supporting
capacity of those resources. As using GIS, it is of great use to apply
this advanced technology into this field.
Purple Mountain is located on the eastern side of Nanjing, Jiangsu province, 447.1 meters (1467 feet) high, with the lowest point 30 meters
(98 feet).
A small mountain with an area about 20 square kilometres (4,900 acres).
Purple Mountain has 621 species of vascular plants, from 383 genera, 118 families (including 78 cultivated species).
I'm planning to make a simple analysis focusing on the
land
classification, bird preservation, and forest range.
