Lecture schedule and readings

There is no assigned text book for the course. In lieu of a text book, readings will be drawn from a range of sources, primarily from refereed academic journals.


Important information -- please read

One way to access journal articles is to log into the library web site (http://www.library.ubc.ca/welcome.html), click on the "journals" tab, then type the name of the journal into the dialogue box. If you are accessing the readings from a non-UBC computer, you will need to log in using your Campus Wide Login account.

For books, you can visit the http://google.books.ca web site and search on the authors' names or the book title to read the book online.

Alternatively, you can go to the library to access the paper versions of the journals and books.

For many references, a "Digital Object Identifier" (DOI) code will be given. To use this code to find an electronic version of the reference, follow the steps outlined below:
