2011 Graduate Symposium

The symposium agenda will include presentations from Geography's 2nd year master students. It will be held over the duration of the day and each presentation will be 20 minutes (15 mins for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion). Click here for schedule and abstracts.

ACOUSTIC CARTOGRAPHY: RE-LISTENING VANCOUVER

April 10, 2011

In conjunction with the UBC Department of Geography and SFU School of Communication, Western Front New Music presents an afternoon of audio works created by geography and communications students, generated from field recordings made throughout the Lower Mainland.

A panel discussion with UBC professor Gerry Pratt and SFU's Barry Truax will contextualize the works from the respective disciplines of acoustic ecology and urban geography.
