International Conference on Sediment and Geochemical Budgets in Geomorphology to honour Professor Olav Slaymaker

June 27th - 30th, 2004
The University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada

Publication of Papers

As announced earlier, a collection of papers from this symposium will be published in a special number of the journal Geomorphology, to be edited by Professors Michael Church, Ellen Petticrew, Catherine Souch and Dr. Philip Owens.

Symposium participants are invited to submit their papers for consideration for publication. For those interested, please note the following schedule and procedures; adherance to this schedule should allow for publication within a year.

Schedule and Procedures

August 31, 2004 - Deadline for submission of manuscripts for review.

  • Send three hardcopies of your complete paper to:
    Professor Michael Church
    Department of Geography
    The University of British Columbia
    1984 West Mall
    Vancouver, BC, Canada, V6T 1Z2
Do NOT send to the journal's regular editors. Electronic materials are not needed at this stage (they will be requested after review and revision).

  • The normal review procedures of the journal will apply; that is, the paper will be reviewed by two or more international referees. You may suggest appropriate referees (who must, of course, not be colleagues) when you submit your paper. The review process will be directed by Professor Church, and he plans to return the accepted papers by mid-autumn.
December 31, 2004 - Deadline for submission of revised manuscripts.

  • If you plan an electronic final submission, Professor Church will prefer the text to be in Word (Wordperfect acceptable), including tables, and figures in eps format (tif also acceptable - see publisher's guidelines). A pdf version of the figures will also be required. You must indicate the specific software (including version number) used to construct each part of your submission.
