Our research focuses on land-atmosphere interactions in urban and other managed ecosystems. Our overall long-term goal is to develop new methods and tools to quantify, analyze and model the exchange of greenhouse-gases, energy, and water between complex surfaces and the atmosphere. This will contribute to the understanding of the underlying turbulent exchange processes and be of use to a number of practical applications such as sustainable design and management of cities and forests, the assessment of renewable energy potential, safety, weather forecasting and climate projections.
