Tara Cookson receives Alumni Achievement Award

Dr. Tara Cookson has received an alumni UBC 2019 Achievement Award.

Currently a postdoctoral research fellow in the department, Dr. Cookson will receive the Young Alumni Award at a ceremony in downtown Vancouver this November.

The award recognises alumni who have shown significant and inspiring leadership in their field.

Dr, Cookson’s research at UBC is focused on gender equity, and she is the substantive editor and co-author of UN Women’s flagship report, Progress of the World’s Women 2019-2020: Families in a Changing World.

She is also a co-founder of Ladysmith, a feminist consultancy that rigorously collects and analyzes gender equity data for international development and humanitarian organizations like UN Women, UNICEF, and the OECD.
