“My work broadly focuses on uneven and combined development, primitive accumulation and racialization in colonial Mexico. I study the deep influence that the colonial state has in the construction of the political, economic and cultural foundations of what we perceive as ‘modern’ institutions. One of my main goals is to decentralize Eurocentric interpretations of global political and economic processes by paying attention to Latin American histories and their actors.”
