Political Economy, Political Geography, Development and Neoliberalism

Supervisor: Dr. Jim Glassman

My scholarly interests include international political economy, hegemony, state theory, critical geopolitics, and neoliberalism/neoliberalization. Specifically, I am interested in exploring the intersections between political democratization and economic liberalization in the postcolonial context of East Asia and beyond. My research traces the genealogy of economic neoliberalization in Taiwan through examining trade politics and its associated geopolitical struggles, nationalist politics, and populism.”
